Bio: My earliest memories of Rock go back to The Beatles. I was very young but I remember my mother playing their records between Barbara Streisand and Herb Alpert. I must say that I still love the cover of “Whipped Cream and other Delights”… But, it was The Beatles MUSIC I was drawn to.

Top 40 Radio on AM was my next major musical exposure. That was back in the day when you could still hear “Rock” on Top 40 radio (even if “Won’t Get Fooled Again” was cut down to 3:38). I soon discovered FM rock radio (and that “Won’t Get Fooled Again” was actually 8:32) and that was it for me…Feed me more Rock!

The first album I ever bought was Elton John “Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player” for $3.33. Other (older) Elton John albums followed. The LAST album I ever stole was “The Captain and Me” by The Doobie Brothers (Man, did my mother kick my ass).

But, the night that truly changed my life was the night I saw KISS on Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert. At that point, I knew that I wanted to be a ROCK STAR! The night that completely warped my life was the night I finally saw KISS live in 1977! Not only were they amazing but the opening act was amazing as well. A little band from Rockford, Illinois named Cheap Trick. A month later I had yet another life changing night. I went to see a band called UFO who was opening for a band I’d only heard of …a band from Toronto called RUSH!

Now fully ruined, I started playing bass and singing in a band in hopes I’d become famous and rich and get a girlfriend. Not a bad plan except…I sucked as a bass player. Fortunately, I actually could sing and continued to pursue my music career as a vocalist. During this time I was also becoming intrigued by the idea of becoming a Radio DJ so that I could turn on other people to all of this great music I’d fallen in love with. I started preparing myself for a career in Radio while I was still in High School. Once in college, I landed my first job in Radio. What a great break!

But, now that I was in Radio, I could see just how much work and luck it took to get signed to a record label as a singer and in turn to get one’s music on the radio.

I discovered was that getting signed by a record label didn’t mean that you were guaranteed to be a Star. In fact, I became acutely aware of just what a crapshoot the artist end of the Music Business was/is.

I was already making a decent living working in Radio and I had already had a girlfriend so what the hell…Forget the singing thing!

25 years later, here I sit in the best situation a guy in radio could ask for.

Bio: I am your girlfriend Coe Lewis and I am what you call "a true rocker girl". Born in Texas. and raised all over the world in places like Ethiopia, Lebanon, Spain and Belgium. I am the youngest of three very tall blondes!

I first started at KGB in 1987 and worked all different day parts, I was the Music Director and the Assistant Program Director. I left for a couple of years in the mid 90's, and returned in 1995. I have been here in some capacity for about 20 years. My first love and one true love is KGB. I went on to sell real estate a few years ago, and I still do..but came back to plug in the headphones again. You guys just can't get rid of me!! Someone told me the other day that I have been on the radio longer than any other female in San Diego! Wow, now I feel REALLY old. Amazing since I am only 28! But you know what...I just love what I do, playing the best music ever for the best listeners ever. KGB has allowed me to work with the best artists in the world. I have interviewed everyone from the Stones to Van Halen. And anyone who knows me knows that my favorite band in the world is Led Zeppelin. I always say..."when I kick, bury me with my Zeppelin CDs". That band along with the Beatles got me into radio. My love for their music was so strong and deep, I knew this was my calling.

Favorite things to do on your days off: I grew up in Southern Cal…went from K-12 in the public schools while Dad was a Professor in the Cal State University system.

Growing up I'd hear the coolest jocks on both of the KGBs. Sure I also listened to The Mighty Met in LA, KPPC, KHJ and Rock in Stereo KLOS (where I was a DJ in the late 70s) BUT there was something different about the KGBs. They were more exciting and fun to listen to…you felt like you were a part of it. From Big Ron, Jesse Bullett, Bobby Ocean, Ern Gladden and Wizard Lou Rogers on the AM to Bill Hergonson, Gabriel Wisdom, Jim McGinness and Bob Coburn (one of my faves and proud to say a friend to date) on the FM. Listening to the KGBs made me feel like part of a family related by music and I… WANTED…IN! I CRAVED TO BE A KGB DJ.

Well, after a very loooooonnnnnnggggg wait, I'm proud to say a dream came true this year on Valentine's Day (how appropriate) when "The KGB" recruited me. My flagship shift is Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

I'm gonna enjoy rockin' San Diego, man!
