Pre-Beatles Recording is the Most Valuable- An acetate by John Lennon's pre-Beatles band, The Quarrymen, is the world's most expensive record. According to Record Collector magazine, a 1958 Quarrymen acetate demo of ‘That'll Be the Day’ backed with ‘In Spite of All the Danger,’ is valued at more than $319,000.
