Chargers collecting food at tonight's game

Fans attending the Chargers’ next home game on Thursday night, Nov. 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to help San Diegans in need during the holiday season. The food collected will help families in economic distress and help reinforce the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank’s dangerously-low food supply.

The parking lot gates open at 1 p.m. and entrance gates open at 3:30 p.m. Red bins will be positioned at all stadium entrances. The most needed items are canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, soup and cereal.

The fan who brings in the most food will receive a very special 50th Anniversary team signed football.

Fans who cannot attend the game can still help by donating items in red bins located in supermarkets throughout the county.
