Jani Lane, former lead singer of the rock band Warrant, was found dead at a hotel in L.A. Thursday evening, TMZ has learned.

Lane's body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, CA. So far, no official cause of death has been released.
Lane famously penned the band's biggest hit "Cherry Pie" back in 1989 ... before eventually leaving the band to pursue a solo career.

Lane had a history of alcohol-related issues, he was ordered to serve 120 days in jail after he was arrested for DUI in 2010, his second DUI in two years.

New wave outfit The Cars have posted a new video from their first new album in 24 years, Move Like This.

Though the band was quite popular in the 80s, frontman/guitarist Ric Ocasek is also notable for producing Bad Brains' Rock For Light, Weezer's Blue and Green albums, Guided by Voices's Do the Collapse and Bad Religion's The Gray Race. 

Aerosmith are officially working on their long-awaited 14^th studio album and the band members are tweeting about how it’s going.

Along with posting a picture of himself in the studio with producer Jack Douglas, drummer Joey Kramer tweeted, “One word bout 1^st day n studio ‘Inspiring.’” 

Meanwhile, guitarist Joe Perry tweeted, “This is how we recorded in [the] ‘70s.  Everyone in the band has something for the CD. Me and [singer Steven Tyler are] just getting warmed up!” 

Randy Poffo tried his hand at baseball, with some success, but it wasn’t until he turned his attention to pro wrestling that he found international fame and success.

In the wrestling ring, he was Randy “Macho Man” Savage, a WWF and WCW titleist with a flamboyant wardrobe, a lovely wife/valet in Miss Elizabeth, and catchphrase (“Ooooh yeahhh”).

Savage died today after suffering a heart attack as he was driving in Tampa. Savage’s 2009 Jeep Wrangler, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report, crossed several lanes of oncoming traffic and struck a tree. His second wife, Lynn, was a passenger and suffered minor injuries. Savage died at a Largo, Fla., hospital.

The surviving members of Pink Floyd — Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Nick Mason — have sworn they will never reunite to tour again after breaking up in the mid-'80s, but at Roger Waters' show last night at London's O2 Arena (part of his current The Wall Live Tour), the three reunited for a rare on-stage collaboration, their third in as many decades.

The reunion was months in the making. Last summer, Waters and Gilmour, who had a falling out during the making of 1983's The Final Cut, buried the hatchet to perform at a benefit concert for the Hoping Foundation. (It was the first time they played together since 2005's Live 8 show in London, which was their first show in 24 years.) Gilmour promised to join Waters for one of his Wall shows if he participated in the charity show.

"How could I refuse such an offer?" Waters wrote on his Facebook page. Ten months later, Gilmour made good on his end of the bargain, which was made even sweeter with the addition of drummer Mason for a rendition of "Outside the Wall." (Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright died in 2008.)

Despite Gilmour and Waters reunion, Gilmour says it was definitely a one-off. A post on his official site reads, "David is not repeating his special guest performance for a later occasion."

"This is not a reunion - it's more like a conjunction," Cars frontman Ric Ocasek told Rolling Stone earlier this year. He's not kidding around.

Move Like This, his band's first studio album in 24 years, finds the New Wave legends sounding almost exactly as they did in their late Seventies/early Eighties heyday. This isn't to say the album is a retread. Ocasek's distinct voice and knack for hooks is front and center, but the sound of the record is slick and modern.

Opening number "Blue Tip" has the rich low end of an LCD Soundsystem dance-rock rave-up, while "Keep On Knocking" and "Sad Song" sound like Ocasek has learned a thing or two from having produced hard rocking albums by Weezer and Guided by Voices.

Move Like This will hit stores on May 10th, but you can stream the album in full now.
