Bruce Springsteen kicked off the last leg of his Wrecking Ball European tour last night (Wednesday) in Paris -- at in indoor venue with no air conditioning. The show featured three firsts -- the appropriate tour premieres of "Independence Day" and "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)," performed in its full band arrangement with the "waitress" version of the third verse. The July 4th holiday was also recognized in "Darlington County" with its "me and Wayne on the Fourth of July" lyric.

The Paris show brought the first European appearance of Springsteen's wife, back-up singer and guitarist Patti Scialfa, since 2008. During the encores, Springsteen said, "Before there was an America, France was America's friend" and dedicated "Born in the U.S.A." to the country. His second and final show in Paris is tonight.
